Summer Class Schedule & Registration
Oak Harbor Youth Sailing's summer sailing classes are a fun way to learn how to sail, hone skills, and experience time on the water with friends. All classes are taught by US Sailing Level 1 Certified Instructors.
All 2020 classes are 11:30 AM - 4:30 PM.
On the first day, instructors will conduct
swim checks and capsize drills for all
participants. Participants must be
comfortable with being in the water.
Beginning classes include the basics of
sailing, including water safety, sailing skills,
vocabulary, and how and why boats sail
Intermediate classes include mastering sailing techniques learned in the beginning class and a light intro to sailboat racing. Students must have successfully completed our beginning class and have the permission of our instructors.

COVID-19 (updated 6/26/20):
The health and safety of our students, staff, and their families is very important. Oak Harbor Youth Sailing strives to maintain all currently acceptable health and safety standards for personal, facility, and equipment sanitation. You and your sailor will be required to read, print, and sign the COVID-19 Screening Questionnaire, which will to be sent to you prior to class.
COVID-19 Screening Questionnaire:
Cancellation Policy Update: If our class is cancelled due to local COVID-19 health restrictions, or if you withdraw your child for health-related reasons prior to the first day of class, your class fee will be refunded. If you withdraw your child for health reasons during the class, 80% of the class fee will be refunded. If you withdraw your child for any other reason, the entire class fee will be forfeited.
Travel: If your sailor or family has been to an area with high rates of community transmission within 14 days of class (defined as a more than 10% increase in cases during your time in the state and county you visited) we may ask you to reschedule to a later date to reduce the likelihood of a sailor developing COVID-19 symptoms during the class.
NEW Wildcat Sailing Prep Class
This summer we are trialing a "Wildcat Sailing Prep" class for sailors in 8th grade or high school who are either current JV sailors or are interested in joining the Wildcat sailing team. This class will focus heavily on racing, strategy, and teamwork. Please let us know if you have a sailor that is interested in this class!
